3 to 5 years; Minimum 5 years clinical experience Experience Desired:
Specialty Pharmacy experience; Previous clinical pharmacy support for special programs, e. g. Disease Management, Quality Management and Utilization Management Programs, preferred; Post graduate experience in direct patient care; Exposure to managed care preferred. Education Required:

Unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state of Pennsylvania Lifting Requirement:

At least 21 years of age Job Responsibilities Perform all supporting duties to contribute to the safe and efficient dispensing of all patient orders by following all quality assurance policy and procedures. Develop competence assessment programs that ensure all pharmacy staff performs all duties and responsibilities with utmost efficiency and safety, as well as, complies with all applicable policies, procedures and standards of the company. Accountable for the clinical operations of the specialty pharmacy. Provide guidance for clinical operational aspects of the pharmacy, oversight of clinical decision-making aspects of pharmacy programs and provide Quality Management oversight. Maintain professional competency and advocate changes in thespecialty pharmacy profession to improve patient care and company performance. Maintain knowledge in area of practice by obtaining continuing education and completing all clinically disease state overviews. Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging and enthusiastically meeting or exceeding all patient needs including counseling and problem solving. Interpret prescriptions for specialty medications, refill prescriptions, enter information into computer and fill prescriptions for medications in a timely manner. Quality check all prescriptions to ensure accurate specialty medication is dispensed and actively participate in quality improvements activities. Assist Team Leader to provide an optimal team and patient experience by proper delegation of work assignments, training, supervision of pharmacy personnel and efficient use of supplies and equipment. Continuously build professional rapport with outside partners including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, drug reps and vendors. Adhere to all company, state and federal policies, laws and regulations. Answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, administration and medication storage. Review patient labs, height and weight when needed for therapy. Identify and document clinical interventions which include identifying potential cost savings through generic substitution, therapeuticinterchange, pharmacy-economics, inappropriate utilization, dosing or duration of therapy. Respond promptly to problems of non-compliance and takes corrective actions as needed. Review all appropriate service and business metrics and assist team on action plans to improve outcomes. Practice within scope of licensure and maintains active license. Responsible for oversight of clinical decision-making aspects of Patient Management Program. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
